NASA has again extended the missions of Spirit and Opportunity, the two Mars Exploration Rovers currently on the surface of the red planet.

Both robots remain in good health despite glitches experienced during their 9 months on Mars. They have also reached an important milestone… having survived through the Winter Soltice on Mars. What that means is that days will get longer, which means more solar energy to power them up.

Seems like we may have rovers for much time to come.
