"Significant Findings" of water on mars

So later this morning (later this afternoon for those of you on the east coast), NASA will be having a press conference from their Washington DC headquarters to discuss “”significant” findings of water on mars.

I am intrigued. It did not go by unnoticed that the daily updates on space.com concerning the twin rovers (Spirit and Opportunity) all but ceased. Where they used to headline, new news has grown mysteriously slow in the coming.

What we do read is that the scientists running the MER (Mars Exploration Rover) program are tight-lipped.

Could it be that they’ve found something that will change the way we all look at Mars? Could be. Tune in to NASA TV today at 2:00 EST and find out!

In other news, there is heavy snow today. Heavy meaning several inches on the valley floor. Somewhat unusual, though not unheard of, for the Reno/Sparks area.
